Neuroscience Professional Sales Representative - Field Sales - Trenton, NJ


Position Overview

The Professional Sales Representative targets, promotes and sells Vertical products to physicians and other specialized medical or healthcare providers. The Professional Sales Representative manages his/her territory in order to maintain and maximize sales of Vertical products to achieve territory, district and corporate objectives. As a member of the sales team, this position works closely with the District Manager, sales representatives and other internal & external groups, to achieve district and corporate objectives. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve quarterly sales goals specific to assigned territory and product portfolio
  • Meet established call average expectations and sales performance expectations
  • Effectively develop and manage territory business plans (targeting, routing, customer segmentation)
  • Analyze data and manage territory to effectively target high prescribing physicians
  • Use functional and technical knowledge of Vertical products, healthcare, managed care, and customer markets to meet or exceed customer needs
  • Determine the appropriate strategic approach to gain access and acceptance for all Vertical products
  • Abide by the Corporate Code of Conduct and Business Ethics and all Company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all administrative requirements, including but not limited to expense reporting, call reporting, and business planning
  • Actively participate in scheduled Company meetings, including but not limited to District and National conference calls, national sales meetings, and other business meetings
  • Travel within the territory for normal business and outside territory for other business events (business meetings, trade shows, etc.)

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, focus on biological science or related discipline preferred
  • 2+ years of pharmaceutical selling experience in quota-driven role preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt approach to meet and exceed business objectives when faced with an obstacle or a customer concern
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive, ethical customer relationships
  • Track record of sustained high performance in current or previous positions and strong aptitude for learning
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and ability to understand market opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Ability to understand and present clinical information
  • Planning, organization, and project management experience including creating and executing business plans
  • Ability to thrive in a culture that is performance based, fast paced, and results oriented
  • Knowledge of the business and market in the assigned territory preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, sales database and web-based applications
  • Ability to travel as necessary or required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
